I installed this plugin to test it. After I decided deactivate and delete the plugin. When I deactivated it my website stopped working and it was not accessible.
I checked the back end. The .httaccess was edited, all information was removed while deactivating.

Other file that was effected by deactivating this plugin was wp-config.php. The wp-config.php file was edited and was emptied. there was no data in wp-config.php file. File was empty blank. I had to restore these two files. How can .httaccess and wp-config.php file be edited and data destroyed.

    Hi,

the plugin won’t remove all content from your .htaccess or wp-config.php files. Upon deactivating, the plugin will remove it’s own .htaccess rules if the 301 .htaccess redirect has been enabled. On some setups the plugin inserts a wp-config.php fix. When deactivating the plugin via the plugins overview this fix is removed, other content in the wp-config.php file will be left untouched. I’m not sure how this could have happened but it’s unlikely this has been caused by Really Simple SSL. If you can send us a support request we can double check this.

    Mark
