Sorry to hear you’re not satisfied with the plugin and how it works with the wp_options table. It’s normal that there may be a significant amount of data added if your site has a lot of pages or content, each of which requires information to be gathered, including validation error information and AMP specific configurations per page.

If you have a large site you could also setup persistent object caching. This will offload your wp_options table entries to cache, in turn boosting performance. This is a particularly important optimization feature for sites with significant content.

Let me know if you have any further questions on the above and we’d be happy to assist. If you’ve uninstalled the plugin I can provide you with some WP CLI commands that will ensure all data and traces of the plugin are removed in full, from your file manager and database. Let me know if you need assistance doing so.

Note that we’re also working on updates t the plugin that will remove all data upon uninstall. You’ll find more on the related GitHub issue below:
    https://github.com/ampproject/amp-wp/issues/3210

Let me know of the above anyway, if you need assistance removing plugin data or whether you’ve setup a persistent object cache and you’re finding there is an impact on performance.
