This plugin has been merged with “Custom Post Type Maker” (note the missing “s”). Please install the new plugin version (1.0.4) from here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-post-type-maker/

What are the steps to remove the older version and replace it with the newer one w/o affecting our site?

Ok.

I was just concerned if that would affect the custom posts types already created on our web site using the old version.

It won’t. It’s the same plugin only renamed.
