Support » Installing WordPress » This Page Is Under Construction – Coming Soon!

  • Hello,

I have a domain adress bought from godaddy. I installed last version of wordpress from Quick Install. But when I try to log to my website I only see This Page Is Under Construction – Coming Soon! and I don’t see any editing tools. I’s been like that for many days, so it’s not a problem with up to three days before everything is working fine. I am completely new here, but I read some previous post with an advice to delete index.html file from File Menager. Problem is I don’t see that file anywhere in my file menager.
    Is there any other solutions?

  • When you say “File Manager” do you mean the tool provided by GoDaddy? You may need to contact GoDaddy support to get help on this – it should be visible to you.

FTP into your site (or whatever file management application your host provides) & delete the index.html file in your domain’s root folder.

    Hello Lorax,
I meant File Menager provided by WordPress.

WordPress doesn’t have a File Manager. Are you referring to your hosts file manager application?

Right, my mistake, I am using File Menager.

What changes were made to the domain yesterday?

I have bought hosting from networksolutions yesterday and then deleted home.html file from it’s file menager (there was no index.html file), but so far nothing has change and I still getting This Page Is Under Construction – Coming Soon! massage 🙁

When you buy hosting, and make changes to the nameserver or DNS settings, these can take usually up to 72 hours to propagate (show) across the internet.
Since it looks like there where changes where made only half an hour ago, it may take a while.
Try contacting networksolutions they will be better placed to advise, as anyone here will only be guessing as to the issue.
You will see some useful information when you enter the domain into the site checker at

So where exactly are you hosting? 🙂

Regardless, you will need to set the nameservers on your domain you purchased from GoDaddy (GD) to the nameservers of your hosting account. This is why nothing is working.

Search the GD support for changing nameservers (you will do this through your GD account for your domain).

The nameservers for a HostGator hosting account can be found in the cPanel home screen in the left sidebar, toward the bottom. Not sure about Network Solutions; check with them for the values.
