• An “Accelerated Mobile Pages” that doesn’t support pages? Isn’t this plugin an oxymoron?
Once upon a time in Google search 90% of the queries parsed were PDFs. Google fixed it and good riddance. Now we have a plugin from WordPress that doesn’t work with pages only proprietary post_types. This plugin is not ready for prime time.

  • A “post” is technically a “web page” 😉 We’re just taking an iterative approach to building the plugin so Pages support will come soon (https://github.com/Automattic/amp-wp/pull/188). Thanks for trying out the plugin!

Also if you read up on Google’s intent — the idea is to speed up popular content such as news sites and such where a diverse set of visitors and locales access a news story, often in lump sum; versus your corporate contact us page, which won’t get the same traffic as an interview with Donald Trump on TIME magazine’s site.

So, giving a plugin which does what it is intended to do, for a “work in progress” is a bit lame.

It’s totally ready for prime time on our news network!

Google isn’t going to feature your staff bio page in their mobile news carousel, just as a head’s up! 🙂

Its an html document. Its designed to do just as its named. Accelerate Mobile Pages.
Everything I said is true. I’m hoping Automatic fast tracks the page support.
Its probably going to have to be a separate template, maybe even a separate plugin.
Most WordPress website owners aren’t interested in showing up in Googles news feed. They just want customers or users to stay on their site and hopefully increase their conversion rate.
    Thanks for the link Mohammad
