    Hi Drachsi,

glad to hear you are satisfied with the plugin! I just like to clarify that when using the .htaccess redirect option the necessary rules are automatically written to the .htaccess file when possible and should work out of the box. We usually discourage adding extra SSL related rules to the .htaccess file unless you know what you are doing.

    Hi Mark,
Thanks for your reply. I did what my hosting company told me to do, I am a real dumbo. So you are saying I should remove the mod I made to .htaccess?

    Regards

    Hi Drachsi,

when the ‘.htaccess redirect’ option in Settings->SSL is enabled the redirect rules should be written to your .htaccess file. It will give a notice if the .htaccess file isn’t writeable so the rules can be added manually. The Really Simple SSL redirect and the code your hosting provider gave you basically do the same thing, redirect traffic to https://. If you enable the .htaccess redirect option you should be able to do without these rules.

I’d suggest to make a back-up of your current .htaccess files in case anything goes wrong, but I don’t expect any issues.

    Mark
