  • I am new to WordPress. I am getting this message on my home page. “This is somewhat embarrassing, isn’t it?”

I tried reinstalling wp and have deleted all my plugins. Not sure what to do next. Thanks in advance for your help.

  • That means there aren’t any posts available 🙂

post something new and it will go away

Thanks for the reply. Tried posting a test post, but I still get the same message.

Did you recently change anything with your database, or not set your database up properly? Just thinking through it.

Are your Settings > Reading settings, the default settings?

Make sure it’s the normal settings

I’m not sure if database is setup properly. I used Bluehost to setup WordPress on the server.

Edit wp-config.php with database connection strings as given by your host.

OK. Now I can say – this is somewhat embarrassing. After checking that the database was installed correctly, I called Bluehost. The tech went to my site and didn’t see the error message. Turns out Firefox was defaulting to an old web address even though I had cleared out the cache. I deleted the old web address (shift + delete) and emptied the cache and everything is fine. Thanks everyone for your help.
