Support » Plugin: Fontsampler » This is amazing!

  • I’ve been looking for a plugin that does exactly this for years. And even last year I didn’t see anything but upon chance searched again and found FontSampler.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

One thing I noticed though is the Media Attachment page allows for the .woff file to be downloaded. I wish there was a way to hide these files or the page so nobody can download the fonts. I found this Attachment Pages Redirect plugin which mostly solves the problem. Would be nice to see an option within the plugin instead.

Thanks again! This plugin made my day.

    Hey Phelan,

thanks a lot for your positive feedback, and for sharing a solution for preventing the attachment page viewing.

There is a couple of features relating to the security of the webfont files. While generally it is impossible to protect the files from being downloaded altogether, one feature I have planned for implementation is to have file names dynamically renamed before being sent to the browser. This would solve your issue in part, because without the actual file name it is impossible to defer the attachment page (the attachment page remains available, however). I’ll keep this in mind and hopefully can add this file name masking in one of the next updates.

    Have a great week,
