Some years back I created a lot of plugin in short time. Just browsing them trying to decide which to revive for the long run now that I’ve learned some lessons.
This is one I want to continue and looking forward to it.
As for the first and only comment on the plugins forum right now:
“This is not a YouTube sidebar plugin”. It is, that is incorrect. A mention of Google AdSense is correct because I threw that ability in for good reason.
This plugin automatically switches to your Google AdSense if a video does not exist for a post or the video is no longer on YouTube. So rather than empty space or whatever. We simply show Google AdSense. Much like other plugins, my own AdSense is there to begin with. That is the easiest approach to show what and where the snippets go plus how it is going to look.
I have some good ideas especially regarding the latest technology in use for YouTube. However my ideas will not be implemented without help from the community so I’m considering getting this one on github with a list of my ideas.
Just had a look at the plugin for the first time. First thing we see once the plugin is install is…
“YouTube Sidebar – Home Page
Add a custom field named “bliptvid” or “youtubeid” to your post and paste the videos ID into the value.”
It’s simple right. Add a custom field on the post edit screen is something everyone is familiar with. Name it youtubeid and enter a YouTube video ID into the value.
Just ignore the first comment on the forum the guy might have been drunk or possibly not wearing his glasses and no doubt he rated the plugin one star…
