I noticed on one of my sites that the “commentmeta” table of the database was HUGE. I’m told this is from a bug from an older Akismet version that has recently been updated. I’m also told this meta info isn’t needed and I would like to get rid of it.
What is the best way to do this? I got from this article that running these sql commands in phpmyadmin should work but I am not familiar enough with the commands to know if I could be messing something up.
DELETE FROM wp_commentmeta WHERE meta_key = ‘akismet_as_submitted’
OR meta_key = ‘akismet_history’
OR meta_key = ‘akismet_rechecking’
OR meta_key = ‘akismet_result’
OR meta_key = ‘akismet_user’
OR meta_key = ‘akismet_user_result’;
