    Hi.

I have just started using the thesis theme and I am experiencing a lot off errors when I am editing custom_functions.php.

It seems that whatever changes I do to that file I get the error message:
“Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /XXX/themes/thesis_17/custom/custom_functions.php on line x.”

Another error message i also see quite often is:
“Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at X/wp-content/themes/thesis_17/custom/custom_functions.php:1) in X/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 890”

    My custom_functions.php file is here:
[Code moderated as per the Forum Rules. Please use the pastebin]

Since these error messages appear ALL THE TIME it seems that there is something wrong in the coding, can someone help me with this problem?

    Thanks!!

Yes. Thank you for your reply but that does not solve all my problem.

    I now get the errormessage:
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /wp-content/themes/thesis_17/custom/custom_functions.php:1) in /home/kriss/public_html/milliard.no/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 890

When I try to edit the custom_functions.php file in thesis file editor.

Anyone got a fix for that?

Ok. Let’s try this another way. Can anyone see anything wrong with this PHP code?

Make sure you don’t have any white space at the top or bottom of custom_functions.php …

Hi, I have a similar problem:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home2/jonprest/public_html/katesgranola/wp-content/themes/thesis_18/custom/custom_functions.php on line 51

But now I can’t log in to fix my custom_functions.php

Where would I go to do that?

Will I lose all of my data if I redo the theme?

    Please help!

You could download your custom_functions.php file to your local machine using FTP and try to correct the error before re-uploading it to your theme’s folder. But if you re-install the theme, you will lose all of your customisations.

    Thanks, Esmi.

I actually forwarded that to my web-designer, hopefully he’ll know what to do with it.

(He’s not the one who messed it up, I am!) I tried adding a twitter and facebook button, and apparently I messed it up. I’m SO bummed!

Well sometimes we only learn from our mistakes. 🙂

    Yes, that is true. ;o)

I’ll let you know if it works.
