• We have this problem and have not been able to resolve it by updating WP core and plugins or by removing plugins or by analyzing query logs. We are up-to-date with WordPress core 4.7.3. This error is also affecting several functions of the WordPress admin section including causing trouble logging in and searching posts and other issues as well. This message is seen at the top of every page in the admin section:

There was at least one error while upgrading the database schema. Please report the following error: Duplicate column name ‘error’

In some places, this error is simply shown at the top of the page and the page functions as normal. Other times this error is shown at the top of the page, and the page fails to complete certain functions, such as searching. Also, when trying to log in using /wp-admin, this error appears on a white page, and no other action is possible. Log in must take place using /wp-login.php

This error occurred when updating plugins, WP-DBManager and Yoast SEO. Any help, ideas, and leads are greatly appreciated.
