Hi,

I’m trying to connect my self hosted wordpress to my wordpress.com account via jetpack in order to sync both of them and be able to post in both places.
but when I’m going to wordpress.com there’s a warning saying
‘There was an error retrieving your site settings.
Make sure your Jetpack is up to date’

and the stats are working good but not the posts retreiving:
Oh, no! We couldn’t fetch your posts.
Please check your internet connection.

I already try to disconnect and connect again but stills the same
any help will be great,

It seems that we receive a 404 error when trying to communicate with your site from WordPress.com.

You can reproduce the issue here as well:
https://public-api.wordpress.com/rest/v1.1/sites/106143610/posts/

Could you contact your hosting provider and ask them to take a look at your logs to find out what happened? They may be blocking these requests unintentionally.

They should be able to find these errors by looking for POST requests to the xmlrpc.php file on your site.

If they need more details, do not hesitate to send them a link to this forum thread; they can comment here if they need more info, or send us an email!

Is it normal jetpack instantiate a “new site” in worpdress.com ??

the preferencial www. site option is on for my sekf hosted site this coud affect the connection with jetpack?

The first one is your old WordPress.com site. The second is the new Jetpack site. That’s indeed to be expected.

If you don’t use the WordPress.com site anymore, you can hide it here:
https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs

You can also make the new Jetpack site your primary site here:
https://wordpress.com/me/account

That won’t affect your connection, no worries there.
