  • A request for you theme designers. Could you please include the Widgets plugin with your themes? Be real helpful. As a matter of fact, try incorporating Widgets into the theme. With the option to disable/enable (if that can be implemented) as the user prefers.

Widgets are essentially drag’n’drop sidebar elements.
You drag them over, place in the order you want then configure if that is needed.

    No editing of sidebar 🙂

If you have a wordpress.com account, login and try them.

Have you heard about Canvas? The idea is to widgetize all the blog elements – headers, footers, posts, pages, archives, etc. The developers apparently want to do it entirely in CSS, avoiding PHP customizations.

The site has been dugg over 1,000 times. The product is still in development. Is this competition for widgets?
