Support » Fixing WordPress » Themes that aren’t compatilble with all search engines

  • This is a very general question: do some themes not work with all search engines?

I’m using Ribosome – and yes, I’ve already posted the topic on that support page. What I want to know here is do developers create themes that aren’t compatible with Firefox, Chrome and Safari. I really like Ribosome and don’t want to change, but I need something that works on more than just Chrome.

  • Those are called Browsers not search engines.

    WhateverTF… I don’t care about that.

Right now, I’m pissed that every time I get this POS to work, I go to a different machine and it’s screwed up. It’s still showing up with the remnants of a theme I replaced. And I’ve already deleted it from my themes.

So, fine… browsers. Now, you got an answer to my question or not?

If you’re still seeing bits of your site that look like the old theme, it’s possible your browser cached a copy of the site before, and that is what you are seeing.

Try re-loading a messed up page with CTRL-SHIFT-R. That should clear the page from the browser’s cache and load it anew. Then it should look the way it’s supposed to.

    Hopefully, that’s all that’s wrong!

Please provide a link to a page on your site where we can see this. Thanks.

We understand you’re frustrated, but please don’t take it out on people trying to help you.

I see 2 items that lead me to lead you in a direction that may help:

    1. In one browser things start to work as intended.
    2. In another (regardless of local machine), site does not.

Your site is using a cache setup: whether at host, a plugin, or a CDN.

    It’s oft misunderstood.

Without a link to site, we cannot ascertain the issue.
