[Themes] Menu & tutor Q

Hi there,

I’m very new in wordpress (just a week) and i’m looking into making a theme based on my html file. Now that i want to start i was looking for a good tutorial but didn’t find any large enough, well explained tutor. Most think u can do everything without explaining how.

So for the first question, anyone got a good tutor?

For the second question, after reading a tutor how to insert pages into your wordpress i got a problem.

The code i use:
<?php wp_list_pages('meta_key=mainmenu&meta_value=mainmenu'); ?>
The looks on internet:
http://www.studio-strijp.nl/wordpress/
How it should be:
http://www.studio-strijp.nl/wordpress2/

Can anyone tell me how i can change “pagina’s (pages) that is showing in my menu? In the wordpress dashboard i can’t delete that page.
