 * Hello All,
 * I have been looking into different themes and found one that I really like:
   [http://carmen.code125.com/docs/](http://carmen.code125.com/docs/)
 * This theme can be purchased on ThemeForest, which I know is separate from WordPress,
   but it says that it is “wordpress ready” Does this mean that one would be able
   to use wordpress in order to make edits with this theme?
 * If anyone has insights on what “WordPress Ready” entails, that would be greatly
   appreciated..thanks!

 * Please direct these questions to Themeforest or the theme’s developer. We’re
   really not in a position to vouch for 3rd party commercial themes.

 * It would be unfair to ask WordPress forum volunteers to provide support for commercial
   themes and in-turn keep those vendors in-business.

 * Ah I see,
    so carmen theme is different then “resonsive” which would be found
   under “Themes” on this wordpress.org
 * Also: I am a little confused as to why this “Respnsive” Theme on WordPress has
   that name, when I have observed that that is a general name used to describe
   a whole plethora of different themes with fluidity and that are mobile friendly.
 * Just checking and a little confused.
 * Thanks! Sorry for putting anyone in any awkward positions. thanks for your help!

 * Yes. The [Responsive theme](http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/responsive) hosted
   here is completely free and has no association with ThemeForest. Completely different
   themes and theme developers.

 * Well, the term “responsive” isn’t trademarked in any way. The theme here was
   one of the first responsive themes submitted to the WPORG Theme Repository and
   its developer simply chose that term as a title for it. As no other theme in
   the Repository had exactly the same title, this wasn’t a problem.
 * You do get these name clashes sometimes. I help to maintain a popular ecommerce
   plugin that has the same name as a totally unrelated ecommerce theme – which
   can cause the odd spot of confusion but, at the end of the day, that’s just…
   life. 😉
 * Bottom line – if you paid (or might pay) for a theme, we don’t support it here.
   If you’ve already bought the theme, then you’ve paid for support from the vendor–
   so do get your money’s worth. If you’re thinking of buying a theme, direct the
   questions at the theme vendor/developer again. If they’re motivated enough, they’ll
   answer your questions. If not, it begs the question – how well will they support
   the theme? Either way, we simply won’t know the theme as well as they do.

 * Ah I see..and his theme is wordpress ready, but what you’re saying is that because
   it was created by an entirely new vendor, the chances of me gaining support would
   be entirely dependent on the willingness of the vendor.
 * ha that is life!!:)
 * And i’m truly torn between this respnsive them and this carmen theme, as carmen
   has a lot of interactivity already ready for me, but I am guessing i would still
   be able to do the same with Responsive and probably get more support when I need
   it, as I have seen the creator, Emile, respond many a time to questions posted.
 * Thanks very much for your communication,I really appreciate it!

 * The [Responsive theme](http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/responsive) underwent
   a fairly strict [coding & functionality review](http://codex.wordpress.org/Theme_Review)
   before it was even allowed into the Theme Repository. The same goes for all themes
   submitted after (or upgraded since) June 2010. As you can see, the review criteria
   are completely open & transparent.
 * I have no idea what quality reviews apply to themes submitted the ThemeForest.
   Perhaps you could ask them?
 * > the chances of me gaining support would be entirely dependent on the willingness
   > of the vendor
 * Or the developer, yes. In all fairness, I have to say the same could apply to
   a theme downloaded from WPORG. The quality of themes submitted is strictly controlled
   but ongoing support cannot be enforced. I’d hope that all theme developers offer
   ongoing support for their themes but, in real life, that’s not always the case
   here or anywhere else.
 * > I am guessing i would still be able to do the same with Responsive and probably
   > get more support when I need it
 * In this case, absolutely! You can check out the level of support that Emil offers
   for yourself via the theme’s forum at [http://themeid.com/forum/](http://themeid.com/forum/)

 * Thanks Emi,
 * glad to know that the theme has gone through testing and meets these regulations.
   I downloaded it last night on a dummie site that I have created, and I like it.
 * One of the main focuses that I have for the website modifications that I”m making
   is the ability to create a unique background, such that I would either be able
   to code in the CSS file for a unique color or that I would be able to input the
   color numbers in order to create a really unique background.
 * And thanks very much for the link where I can view these ratings, this is also
   really helpful.
 * I appreciate the amount of support that everyone is giving me on wordpress
