Theme works in subdirectory and not in theme directory
I’m lost. I decided to update my theme and after some searching settled on the Quadro theme from elegantthemes.com. Installed the theme, previewed and activated it fine.I managed to mess up something in the theme and so I deactivated it and installed my old theme again. I then went to the wp-content/themes folder and created a sub folder called /bk and moved the quadro theme to this folder. I decided to have another go at the quadro theme and installed it using the “Install Themes” tab. Back at the “Manage Themes” tab I activated the quadro theme and all the frames were missing. Then I noticed that there were two entries for the theme under manage tabs. I previewed the second one and it looked fine so I activated it. Only later I saw that this was the old one I had messed up located at wp-content/themes/bk/quadro. I deleted the theme wp-content/themes/bk/quadro and tried to reinstall in wp-content/themes, but no luck. I then moved my new install of the theme to the /bk folder and it works again. Huh? If I try other themes (in the /themes folder, they seem to work fine but I like the quadro theme and it took hours to find it and, more important, I paid for it. I would say “no worries it works” but I am getting strange floating text and I suspect that it is because the theme is running in a subdirectory. I didn’t even know it could. My site is http://www.getvalue.co.za. I have left the quadro theme installed but this is such a nuisance.
