The answer is probably there isn’t one. You may have a little more luck asking “how do I make a theme.” Or better yet, look in the codex under themes.
What I have found best, is take one of the existing themes that has a layout that is similar to what you want, and then mess with the graphics and fonts until it is “completely” what you want.
Hmm I may do that, i have edited a few blog designs in the past but I am unsure about css and stuff….
As for fonts how would I type in the matrix font for example and the person reading it would see it in the matrix font. If they had it of course but if they didnt would I be able to tell the blog what font to use?
Well, I am also obsessed with a Matrix theme, somewhat.
On localhost, I have several experiments not yet finished.
I put up three screenshots for you to have some idea:

Also, if you care to look at my domain (love-unlimited.net)
and select the blog “Frozen Dreams”, there you can see some implementation, so you may have some ideas.
Generally, I use two kind of animated gifs (you can get them anywhere).
Your only limit is your creative fantasy 🙂
The only problem I see with what you have done with the matrix themes is that the green etxt is harder to see with the code all over the background.
I would suggest that the actual “post” boxes as in where your posts are, would just have a black background. The matrix code would go all over the rest of the page.
Frozen Dreams looks cool by the way I would change the face that is on the right and add a matrix pic there but everyone likes different things.

Might I also suggest a cleaner version of the Matrix code? This tutorial should help: http://www.macmerc.com/articles/Graphics_Tips/175
Oops 🙂
I thought this thread dead.
My samples are just some base experiences.
Certainly, this is my own obsession to use green text but all other people are free to create their variations.
It is not obvious in the screenshots but I use hover effect to hide the background image for better reading.
All in all, my aim was to show that some carefully seledted animated background (matrix or whatever else) may give some liveliness to a blog.
For me, it is quite enchanting and soothing to watch the endless flowing of the letters. Just like the fall of rain what I like very much, too.
Also, anyone do feel free to use any of my ideas, if you like it 🙂
