 * Sorry if this isn´t the right place to post a dubt. I am still a newbie with
   WordPress. I installed a Theme and even trying to follow the step by step tutorial
   to create a Child Theme, I wans´t able to do it. So, I downloaded a Child theme
   plugin and created a Child theme of the installed theme. After that I activated
   the child them and made some modifications of the theme.
    But now, the theme
   received a major update but I don´t know if the Child theme really works. I didn
   ´t make any changes in the Child theme folder. Just modified some things. And
   now, the developers said that the best way is to delete the theme, or rename
   the theme to *****.bak. And if I remove the theme, how will the Child Theme keep
   all the settings?
 * Please can someone help me with this doubt?
    Thanks in advance

 * Try this:
 * 1. Rename the old parent theme to .bak
    2. Install the new parent theme update
   3. Test to see if your child theme is still working with the changes
 * If all is well, you’re good to go. If not, delete the update and restore the
   old parent theme by removing .bak from the theme name.
