[Theme Twenty Twelve] Optimizing the Front Page

Hello everybody there,

I have installed a front page for my site and I wonder how to optimize it in order to get it loaded as fast as possible.
Many stuff is loaded by the user browser (even if not displayed), which is not necessary for this very simple page, (like header image…)
I thought maybe the tip would be to customize the page-templates/full-width.php (after copying it into my child theme of course) but I really don’t know what to add there. Or a plugin maybe?
Any idea?
