Theme: Twenty-Thirteen – removing comment box on each page

    I would like to remove the section of each page that says “Leave a Reply”, has a comment box, and a “Post Comment” box. Where do I go to do that and how? Is it in the footer? Is there a way just to have a solid colored band as the footer on those pages?

    Do not edit the Twenty Thirteen theme. It is the current default WordPress theme and having access to an original, unedited, copy of the theme is vital in many situations. First create a child theme for your changes.

    I want to remove “leave a reply” on every page. And I have already saved theme as modified. Where do I go and what do I do to remove it? Thanks for input.

    If you don’t create a child theme, or at the very least use a Custom CSS plugin, you will lose any customisations when/if the theme is updated.

    Onto your question, you want to remove the entire form?

    If so, you can disable comments globally in Setting -> Discussion -> uncheck ‘Allow people to post comments on new articles’. But if you wanted to make doubly sure your comment form will never show, pop this into your custom CSS:

    #comment {
    	display: none;
    }

    However, this will also work:

    .comments-area {
    	display: none;
    }

    Hi, I am new to wordpress.org and am having the exact opposite problem: I am using the twenty-thirteen theme and cannot seem to get the comment box to show up on my posts. Under Setting->Discussion I checked ‘Allow people to post comments on new articles” but the comment box still isn’t showing up.Do you know how I can do this? Thank you so much!

    Hi,
    how do you remove the whole “leave a reply” form out of every page, but keep it as it is in every post?
    Thanks!

    I’d also like to remove the ‘leave a reply’ form out of every page. I tried unchecking the ‘allow comments’ function in the discussions area but that didn’t change anything. And I don’t see that option on an individual page. So I was going to update the custom CSS per the post above but I’d like to be able to save out the default stylesheet. I don’t see a way to get to that (I’m also using the twenty-thirteen theme). I took an online class and we built our class site using the Marina theme (from web2Feel.com). There was an option, ‘Appearance’ to select ‘Marina theme’ and then copy out and save all of the files. I don’t see that with this theme. Is there some other way to back up the style sheet? Or will the stylesheet revert back to the original once I remove the display statement from the ‘Edit CSS Stylesheet’ option? I, too, am new to WordPress and I’m hesitant to doing any customizing at this point. If it has any bearing, I’m using Go-Daddy’s Manage WordPress.
