    Hi guys,

I was wondering what I would have to do in order to place a banner ad on the top of my site futbolpulse.com, which uses the Twenty Fourteen theme. I presume this would have to include un-stickying the primary menu from the top of the page? If you could help me out as to how to accomplish this that would be great!

    Thanks!
    – Dan

Do not edit the Twenty Fourteen theme. It is the current default WordPress theme and having access to an original, unedited, copy of the theme is vital in many situations. First create a child theme for your changes.

I already have a child theme created. How would I go about adding the banner ad?

You would need to edit your child theme’s header.php template file.

I understand. How exactly would I edit that to make it happen?

Do you know how to use PHP, HTML and CSS?

    danielwp, nice site dude!

was this ever followed up on? i’d like to add an ad banner much like the one on futbolpulse.com. I understand how to edit the child header.php file, i just am not sure what to put in it.

to center the ad script in header.php, add your script under <div class="header-main">.
