I am playing around trying to get a centrally aligned menu with Twenty Eleven.
I also want to keep my site nicely fluid for different screen sizes.
I can get the menu to work exactly how I want, but only when I set the width of access a in em. Weirdly, as soon as I set the width as a percentage (to help all elements resize with window size) it behaves very strangely, with spaces between menu items differing seemingly (?) based on text length of menu item.
I’m sorry but it is beyond the scope of these forums to deal with general CSS issues. Try a dedicated CSS resource such as http://www.css-discuss.org/ instead. In the meantime, using Firefox with the Firebug add-on for this kind of CSS work. Or use whatever developer tool is available in your web browser. http://getfirebug.com/
I always thought this forum was for css issues. The question isn’t really that in depth. But anyways… taking a look now, it appears that you’ve fixed your problem. Keep in mind that building a proper responsive website takes a lot of additional time and knowledge. Your best bet is to start by building a really solid fixed-width design.
