Whatever this is, it’s specific to your site. Have you tried:
– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
– re-uploading a fresh, unpacked, copy of the Twenty Eleven folder to wp-content/themes using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
– re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.
@esmi: I have the problem on my site, but I was also contacted by an other site owner with the exact same problem. I will try your suggestions and report back.
@esmi: did all the above suggestion, cleared browser cache, and uploaded new wp files and theme files.
Still the header doesn’t stick to the page.
I installed the NomNom child theme and with this theme it works as expected. With the default Twenty Ten it shows the slider images.
Can we just clarify whether you’re referring to the Twenty Ten or Twenty Eleven theme?
Sorry, my bad, wrong write up in previous reaction. It is the new Twenty Eleven Theme.
Are you using a single custom header for all posts? Are are you using the featured image functionality to create a header-per-post?
The Featured image function, and I found what I did wrong. As the header for that page I used a header image that was smaller in size and not 1000 x 288 in size.
Once I corrected that it works as expected.
Thanks for your patience and suggestions, Esmi!
