[Theme: ToomMorel Lite] Changing the homepage

Hi!
I need help about changing the homepage into a different page.
I set up a new page as “start” another for “blog”, changed the settings in “reading” panel for static page with front page -> start, for posts page -> blog.
When it comes to a page it shows start in menu but no content that i can see in editing panel.Why is that?
Is there a part of code that “covers” this homepage?
I use my own menu by the way, maybe that’s a problem?
I’m looking at header’php, front-page.php and can’t see anything that could help me.
