    I am trying to get the parent menu items to have a hover color like the subcategories because it is not obvious that you can click on a parent to get to it's own page.

    Any help would be great!! Thanks!

    You should create a Child theme to make your changes. If you do not, all of your changes will be lost if you update your theme.

    Try adding this to the end of your child theme's style.css:

    #site-navigation ul li a:hover { color: #81d742 !important; }

    That did it!! Thank you!!

    I haven't created a Child Theme yet, bc it wasn't obvious to me how I would do that, but I definitely will look into it and fix that.

    Thanks for the solution vtxyzzy!!
