• Hi. I’ve been trying to find a theme I like, and though I have found a few, none is really it. The one I’m using now I can’t figure out how to change the header/have the tagline show (though it’s correct in the Dashboard). I’m trying to start all over. I’ve tried going through themes in WP but none jump out at me. Without knowing code to fully customize the theme and without having $5K I was quoted to create it from scratch, any suggestions on how to get my blog’s theme as close to what I truly want as I can (when none of the WP themes or ones I bought through my host let me change it as much as I want)? The basics of it (2 columns, footer, banner) is there now, but just not overall (color, placement, etc.): http://www.whatnowandwhy.com.

I know this is all over the place, and I’m sorry. Any help you can offer is appreciated.

  • As this is a commercial theme, we cannot really help. You need to seek support from the theme vendors.

Thank you, Esmi. But I’m not asking for help with the theme I’m currently using. As I said in the original post, I just need advice on how to find a theme that I can customize. I haven’t found a WP theme that I like that also lets me change it to be exactly what I want. I’m just looking for other ideas, nothing to do w/the theme that’s there now as I plan on changing that to a basic WP theme until I find one I truly like/can work with.

We only have access to the same theme searching tools that you do.

    Hi,

I’m a beginner with WordPress and I’m trying to do an e commerce site. I know I need a theme and I have been looking at Woo Themes “Canvas” theme.

Looking at this site: http://www.alliance-express.com/ I see the main look and functionality I need:
Linking from a home page image to several other pages to finally get to an ordering table.
    Shopping cart function.
    Credit Card Processing

Of course I’m interested in SEO, statistics, nifty functions like sliders etc. but before I put a lot of effort into working with a theme, I would like to know before I start that the theme will support my goals.

In addition to the functions I listed above, I need to be able to interface with my Quick Books to generate invoicing, packing slips, etc. If I could handle inventory and address label printing it would also be a real plus. Also, I need to be able to upload Excel or csv files to populate my tables.

So, I am asking, is Canvas a good choice or do you have another recommendation that would be better suited for me?
