• I know people have brought this up before, but I can’t find any solutions that have worked for me yet. I can set up my WP installation fine (v 2.5), install my theme and plugins, and make posts, but after a day or two it always reverts back to the default theme and deletes all posts except “hello world,” which it has to recreate because I delete it on every new WP install.

    My WP installation info:
    version 2.5
    Adsmindedwide theme
    Plugins:
    SEO All-in-One
    Google Sitemap Generator
    wp-cache

I know I can change the name of my theme folder to “default” so that it can only revert back to the theme I want, but what about the problem with deleted posts?

If your posts go away, then your database is being removed or reverted or something to that effect. Posts are not stored in WordPress, they’re stored in the database.

Thanks for that tip. What’s odd is it’s only my newest WP installations that are having this problem (with new version 2.5). It’s also the first time I’ve used the plugins that I listed. Nobody on the support forum for my hosting provider is mentioning a problem like this. Is there a way the plugins could be doing something to mess up the database? It might be worth noting that the plugins are deactivated whenever the posts are deleted and the theme is changed.

That supports my theory that your database is being reverted. You really need to take this up with your host and find out what’s wrong with your database.
