[Theme: Responsive] How to create a page-width single footer widget? (3 posts)

I am currently in the process of completing my first website using WordPress.

The website is done using a child theme of the ever-impressive responsive theme.

I am attempting to put in a image at the bottom of our website.
    (Image is located: http://www.churchie63.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/OMA_Footer.jpg)

However I notice the theme does not have a footer option. How do i insert a footer widget, just a single one, in order to place my footer at the bottom of each webpage?

Note: I managed to find a code that including editing your footer.php, functions.php and style.css to produce a footer area however it included 3 widgets and I failed spectacularly trying to edit it down to one by myself so please don't suggest that!

Try asking on the theme's dedicated forum: http://cyberchimps.com/forum/free/responsive/
You should get a faster & more informed response there.
