  • About Themes that are available for download:

    1. When you use someone’s theme (found on the site ==Blogging Pro==), is it “good practice” to tell the theme-designer that you’re using it?

    2. Are you permitted to make changes to these themes? (such as color, etc.)

    3. I added a new theme to my site (“Steam”) and then my blog’s subtitle vanished [the subtitle was there using the WordPress Default theme]. If changes are permitted (question 2, above), can someone suggest how to add this subtitle to my page?

    Thanks AGAIN … RB

  • 1. You can tell them, but it’s not really required.
    2. It depends on the theme’s license.
    3. Put this line
<div class="description"><?php bloginfo('description'); ?></div> where you want your “subtitle” to appear

Themes made available for download under the GPL or licence free are exactly that. No need to tell the designer – he will know anyway thru technorati. Hack it to death by all means. The simple way to put your sub title in is to fire up index.php and just add it in. HTH.

You guys (and gals) are amazing. It took one minute to get 2 replies.

Thanks again. I’m a WordPress fan for life now.

And welcome to the WP community.

I myself do with it what you like, add your touches/flavor, no need to contact but a nice short e-mail like {I found your design on blogger pro and am using it.} would always be nice to recieve. and welcome to WP
