The thumbnail size is fixed, it isn’t really built to accomodate images of different heights. It might be better to look for a theme that uses masonry (a javascript that lays out images of multiple heights well) if you need that functionality.
Hi–I am also having trouble with image sizes. When I click into my gallery to view individual images, most of them appear at full-size, but particularly long, narrow images are shrunk. They are comics with text, so this makes them unreadable. (This in a page where I had the gallery set up to be a full-size portfolio, btw.)
Is there anything I can change within style.css to make ALL images display at FULL size? What is the height/width ratio limit that makes the theme shrink images? I’ve noticed in the style.css sheet, there is a part of the gallery that is set as height: auto%. Is there any way to change this to allow for all images to remain at full size? The shrinking is really problematic.
