    I’ve created a child theme that’s empty except for style.css. It looks like this:

    /*
    Theme Name: Pinboard Child
    Theme URI:
    Description: Hatsugaya child theme for pinboard
    Author: TVH
    Author URI:
    Template: pinboard
    Version: 0.0.1

    @import url(“../pinboard/style.css”);

    */

    It’s available for activation under my themes menu, but when I activate it my menus disappear and the menu options appear without necessary formatting.

    I thought this was about the most naked child theme you could have, so I was surprised to find it messing with the menu formatting. Any help? Thanks!

  • Parent theme settings and options do not transfer to child themes – so you’ll need to redo any changes you’ve made to the parent theme.

    thanks for the reply. actually, I haven’t made any changes to the parent theme.

    You need to set up the menu in the child theme. If there is something else going on, a link to your site would probably be helpful.

    Hi WPyogi,

    Thanks a lot for the information! I was actually able to take care of what I wanted via Jetpack but if I need to use child themes in the future it’s good to know I need to set up the menu there as well.
