• Hi,

    I followed a tutorial on creating a child theme. However when I activate it and preview it, all is fine and looks the way it should. But when I go to the website the menu bar disappears and displays a list of pages. I have tried customising the menus but this hasn’t fixed the problem, have I missed something when creating my child theme?
    My URL is http://www.dwrfencing.com.au this is parent theme as I cannot use the child theme due to this issue.

  • Hi, the site looks nice. Did you add a style sheet for the child theme?
    Would you like me to look at it further using the child theme?

    I knew there was something I forgot to add to my post! haha. Yes, I did create a style sheet (saved as style.css)

    /*
    Theme Name: parament child
    Theme URI: http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/parament/
    Description: parament child
    Author: Kirsty-Lee Vardy
    Author URI: http://www.dwrfencing.com.au
    Template: parament
    Version: 1.0.0
    Tags: black, dark, orange, two-columns, fixed-width, custom-background, custom-header, custom-menu, mircroformats, rtl-language-support, sticky-post, translation-ready
    Text Domain: parament-child
    */

    @import url(“../parament/style.css”);

    /* =Theme customization starts here
    ————————————————————– */

    I’ve tried deleting the style sheet a few times and creating new ones, but still have the same issue. I’m sure there is a super easy fix, I am just new to all this website design stuff.
