I'm new to WordPress & this Oxygen theme. Can someone please help me change the size of the featured images on my home page to 470x627 px and not cropped to 470x140 px. I read in another topic to use FTP but that was really confusing to me. Is there a way to change the featured image size in CSS or php?

    My website is http://www.get-scrooged.com

I am a complete newby to coding so take this with caution but I figured out a hack. Go into your functions.php and find the image sizes section. There you can change the hieght of the archive thumbnail to whatever you want it to be. I don't think it will automatically change the archive thumbnail size of previously uploaded photos so you will have to go back and completely delete the old featured image and reload them to your site. It should work though for any new posts. I hope this helps.

    Hey GetScrooged,

I followed the instruction that Allison left you, I am having a hard time finding the functions.php image sizes section, I see the functions-admin.php section, I looked at your website and that is exactly how I want it to be. http://www.dopenativeboy.com/ this is my url. help! the images you have are awesome. Hi I'm having similar problems...

On my site the featured images are not the right size I want:

How do i get into my functions.php or wp-content?

    Hi Eric,

You can access your functions.php (which is in your theme's folder in wp-content>themes>[your theme's name]) using your FTP program. Did you use one to install wordpress manually? If so reconnect your FTP program to your wordpress site and you should be able to navigate your folders.

If you didn't install WP manually, check out this video: http://vimeo.com/17147778 - it explains manual WP installation, you needn't reinstall WP, but it does explain how to connect an FTP program to your site and use it to upload/view/change files.

    Hope this helps!

  8. That won't work as Eric Tien's blog is on WordPress.COM and is not a self hosted WordPress.ORG software installation.

For a list of the differences please see this article.

Eric, please post to the correct forum for your question.
