• My host installed WordPress and I installed the twenty seventeen theme. In the Appearance/Customize menu I have no Theme Options item, nor any way I can find to specify a static front page.

    What am I missing?

  • Hi there,

I’ve had the same issue… Have you got the front page to display your latest posts rather than a static page?

Theme option only show, when in the static front page section, it display a static page and not your latest posts!

My guess it is theme related, as it is either your posts or static page, but not both. However there is a way around it, in static page select static with a front page and also add a post page…

    Hope this solves your issue…

    Hi,
Thanks, Max. I also am a new developer and I had the same problem.
But when I did both of the actions you suggested:
    1. selected static front page and
    2. created a post page,
the Theme Options tab on the Customizer reappeared.
    Thanks again,
    Jim
