Theme Options missing

    Hi there –
    I’ve got two separate websites that I’ve switched to using TwentySeventeen theme cause I really like the whole paralax thing.

    The problem is that in both sites the Theme Options are missing under Appearance area.
    Also on the “Homepage Settings” I only see the standard radio buttons. The two menus for selecting home page and posts page that are shown in the theme’s doc are both missing.

    The plugins used on the two sites are quite different so I’ve been focusing on trying to troubleshoot this on the site with just two plug-ins (Disable Comments, and Shortcode Ultimate). Disabling both plug-ins seems to have no effect.

    I’ve updated my PHP to 7.4 and my wordpress install is up-to-date.
    Not sure what else to try.

    “Theme Options” only show in the Customizer or under Appearance when you are on a page.
    for the two options in the “Homepage Settings” to show, you will need to have at least one or two published pages…

    Your hints were enough to get the whole paralax thing working.
    I feel like a dolt, but the trick was just to select static page on the Homepage Options and then the menus showed up. I already had a bunch of published pages created, but only once I selected two existing pages for home and posts did the Theme Options item appear in the Theme customizer.
    (for others who stumble on this… just clicking on the customizer from anywhere shows the Theme Options — don’t need to be on a page)

    Sadly, it looks like all my embeds are broken in the posts area now so not sure I’m gonna stick with the theme. They posts only show up as text summaries. Since most of my posts are just embedded vimeo vids it pretty underwhelming.
