Hi! I just noticed one strange thing. I have two WP installations and two copies of the same WP theme “Website” installed on my server. One is “live” and one is just for me to experiment. I noticed that the “Theme Options” menu in the admin panel is placed on two different places in the admin menus of my two copies of WP.

On my “experimental site” it is placed in the main admin menu (just under the “Settings”), and is showed nice and neat, and working properly. On my “live” site it is placed inside “Appearance” as a sub-menu and there is something strange in its looks. It didn’t work properly (when I press some of the options it didn’t show me anything at all). I reinstalled the WP, emptied the cache several times, and now “Theme options” works (at least it show me all the options and I can adjust everything as I want). But it is still placed under “Appearance” menu and something is wrong with it’s css (it looks little strange).

My main question is: How come that “Theme options” is shown on different places in the WP admin menu on my two identical WP on the same server?

I tried to deactivate and delete several plugins, but it didn’t change.

It wouldn’t bother me much, but I just want to be sure that this is not a symptom of something bad…

I have the latest WP version 3.4.1. on both installations.

    Many thanks!

  • Hi Misko,

That sounds like something that is based specifically on your theme. You may want to check with the support team for your particular theme!

    Thanks!

Thank you ecalley for your respond.
But still: I have two identical installations of WP on the same server with the same themes installed – and the “Theme options” menu appears on two different places in admin menus. It is strange..

You were right, it was the theme thing. I didn’t update the theme properly and thet’s why I had this problem. It’s all solved now. Thanks!
