Not sure if this is on purpose or not but let’s say I create a list option with the ID “sliders.” I then add settings to those options. If I later decide to change the ID of the “sliders” list option to let’s say “homepagesliders”, the slider setting that I added do not transfer over, instead the settings will be blank.

not sure if this is by design or not. If it is, does the data just stay in the database somewhere?

Also, if it is by design, is there anyway to transfer the settings from one option ID to another easily?

When you change the ID it assumes you’re starting a new option not renaming one. The data is still there saved under the old ID and there is no simple way to make it save the data under a new ID when you change it like that, sorry!

    no worries.

also I just wanted to say your work with optiontree is amazing and I’m sure others can say the same. it’s made user interaction with my clients a cinch.

what’s your motivation behind the plugin? I noticed you mentioned a small monthly donation from themeforest, however I imagine it wouldn’t cover all the time you’ve spent developed this beautiful plugin!

    thanks again!

You are correct, it doesn’t cover much. However, the motivation is simple. I built themes with it in the past and I’ll build themes with it in the future and when it gets better through Open Source collaboration everyone benefits.
