# Theme name Copywrite question

 * What are the rules for naming themes?
 * If I take a GPL theme called “Cool Theme” and add onto it with a child theme,
   am I allowed to name it “Cool Theme Custom” for example? or do I have to come
   up with an entirely new name for it before releasing it?

 * As a theme developer, I should think you might want to give it an entirely unique
   name and then distinguish its release as being developed as a child theme designed
   for use with the “Cool Theme”, originally authored, developed and released by(
   cool_theme_author_name and credits here).
