Which usual instructions did you try? This one?

Or do you want to create something that has many posts on it as a landing page?

I’ve just created a dummy page using the Home page - full width template (from MT dark), assigned it to Front Page via http://your-blog-url-here/wp-admin/options-reading.php.

    Works as expected.

    Jan,

Thanks for your response. I used the first set of instructions with no luck. I tried the home page-full width template and the home page- side bar template, both of which ended up with blog info in the middle and the content below it. I don’t want any references to blogs on the home page.

    Ah, got it.

Well, if you’re up to it*, you can copy one of those existing template files such as dark-template-front-page-full-width.php and modify it to suit your needs. You’ll have to be careful but removing the blog info and content shouldn’t be that difficult.

Just remember to change the Template Name: in your copy and apply that to just a page you create. Then make that page the Front Page and you should be set.

*Note: If you create a child theme of MT dark, maintaining your modifications will be much, much easier…

Thanks again, but this is a bit out of my league.
