Hello, I am currently running my blog using the Meeta theme which puts the popular tags of the site under the main header. The problem is there are too many tags now and they do not look good on a mobile device or desktop. (Multiple rows of tags, tags uneven, etc) Does anyone know how I can remove this functionality all together?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
if you can show here your website , so i will understand and help you..
it will be cool.
anyway , you need to find the respective lines at loop.php
and remove them.
i can help me if you show me the site/problem with image+code/website address .
search for secondnav in the loop file
and delete it :).
if you still dont understand , post here the code of that loop file , i will help you with that.
Would that be secondnav in my loop.php template or in my style.css?
i cant find it here, i guess its in the Header.php
can you upload it and delete your last post (remove the code) ?
Sure how do I upload? Sorry for the all the n00b questions.
dude , header.php
not the css.. , please post here your header.php code .
Look at the header.php – you can see that there are injected backlinks and code to hide the links from users but not search engines.
I am seeing hundreds of examples of this across major sites – is there some major wp hack going on yet to be publicised?
Please investigate how these links are being inserted and report back.
Yes, that header.php has spam links inserted. Someone hacked into your site.
The xViewState function needs to be removed, and most of the line with “nemonn” on it (but not the “body” tag at the end).
But if they broke in and altered the file once, they might do it again. You need to find how they broke in and close that door. It might be an FTP password (you should be using encrypted FTP), or a backdoor. They might have also installed a backdoor.
Well this took an interesting turn for the worse. Not sure how I got hacked but I did delete all the crap out of my header.php. I changed all my passwords but not sure about the encrypted ftp. Any ideas on how to check for this?
I also found this code in a client’s header.php from a custom theme. Except the links for theirs was payday loans. I wonder if it is being injected from a plugin, since he has the same plugins on both sites that use this theme. Only time will tell.
This is what I have found out about “nemonn”
There will be an additional base64 coded file elsewhere (the backdoor)- and possibly more than one. They seem to be located in the core wp-admin directory and are randomly named but seem to follow the update-randomname-randomname.php taxonomy.
Just updating / reinstalling WordPress from the admin won’t remove this file.
Additionally you should follow guidance given elsewhere for changing ALL passwords (FTP, database and WordPress admins) and follow instructions for Hardening WordPress.
