 * Lets say I downloaded a theme similar to this
    [http://www.templatemonster.com/website-templates/23567.html](http://www.templatemonster.com/website-templates/23567.html)
 * How would I go about putting the pictures in the slots meant for them and making
   them thumbnails to a page relevant to a picture?
    This is clearly not a post.
   Is this something that has to be done in the CSS or Html or can it be done through
   the manager in the page section?
 * Thanks as always
 * David

 * It really depends on the theme’s backend. Some themes provide an admin feature
   that will allow you to do what you’re asking without having to touch any code,
   which sounds like what you’re looking for.
 * Since I’m not familiar with that theme in particular, I would ask them directly.
   Try their [support chat](http://www.templatemonster.com/support_index.php?referer=%2Fshow.php%3Ftempl%3D23567).

 * well, its either going to have a theme options menu that you can go into to change
   up the photos if it’s a well coded theme
 * Or you’ll have to upload your images to the themes images folder, and change
   some code in the css or one of the php files to point to the proper image location.
   It won’t be a hard tweak, and if you are paying money for a theme, it sure oughta
   have detailed instructions

 * No plug-ins involved?

 * no i definitely wouldn’t think so…
 * Too bad they don’t give a lot of detail before you buy…it’d be nice to know what
   you are facing before committing
 * the requirements say you need to have photoshop (GIMP is free, and also opens.
   psd files. That hints that youo may have to do some image editing…..I’m not sure
   how much tho)
 * **NOTE**–that says website template, not wordpress template….**To Be Clear**…..
   downloading a theme similar to that which is WP ready should be easy to adjust
   pictures…..that specific template would not be

   add?
 * Im still not sure how all this would make it a a link that leads to another page
   or an add, can you elaborate a little more?
 * (sorry for the ignorance)
 * Thanks

 * Also if its not a plug in, what are plug ins like this for:
 * [http://docs.tribulant.com/wordpress-banner-rotator-plugin/423](http://docs.tribulant.com/wordpress-banner-rotator-plugin/423)
   ?

 * well…if you find a theme that is set up to have ad placement in it, or images
   like the one you showed….. the code is already in place. All themes have image
   folders, thats where the components of the theme are kept. Making a picture a
   link that leads to a page would be as simple as switching out one url for another
   within the template.
 * Again, I can only be generic, as every theme is different. They are all coded
   in a manner that makes sense to the author.
 * There are many themes out there that have slots for you to insert your own photos
   into slots.
 * That plugin is to add rotating ads to your site. It’s just an easy way of managing
   rotating ads. Instead of hard coding that into your theme, you use that plugin
   and then only need to insert one line of code into your theme to call to that
   plugin.
 * I would definitely recommend looking around at some of the free themes out there,
   finding ones that look appealing, installing them to see what you can do. Don’t
   pay for any themes for sure, until you are sure you are able to use them. Try
   to develop a basic understanding of how themes work, how to do minor edits, etc….

 * HI,
 * I’m so new and clueless. How do I find the theme’s folders. My theme is here
   but I don’t know how to access it. I put it in the url after wp-admin but that
   didn’t work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
