Can anyone point me in the right direction to fix the issue I’m having of my wife’s WP site? looks fine in IE, but in Firefox the bottom dark strip shows up at the top and the side column items on the right are all centered when it should be left-aligned.

    Please advise, thanks!

  • It doesn’t look too great in my IE7 either! The sidebar is pushed to the bottom, probably because it is too wide. As for problem solving, maybe you want to start with this.

    Thanks Gangleri!

I’m not too familiar w/ web coding, so do I have to address each of those potential ‘breaks’ in the code to get my site looking ‘optimal’?

Usually when you found a problem, you get rid off a whole lot of errors. The trick is to found out how things should be in PHP and CSS files, since it differs from html. If you need help validating, you might want to start a “site validation help” threat, since there are people on this forum who read these W3 reports like a magazine and can often quickly say what’s wrong. My own experience is that the beginning is awfull, but once you see the logic, it is not such a tough job afterall.

In any case, just start at the top and you’ll notice that you won’t have to correct 31 errors, but just a couple.

Oh, the first one is easy, an <img> tag has to be closed, so it doesn’t end with a >, but with a /> (including the space).
Each <img> tag has to have an alt (emty, so alt=”” is ok).
I think these few things will solve most of the problems, but it doesn’t really sound like to sollution of your problem… It won’t hurt to have your site “validate” though, so…

You’re awesome, thanks! If all WP community members are as helpful as you, it’s going to be a great experience implementing this product. :]
