theme keeps old meta

  • Hello,
I’m new to wordpress so hopefully I’m posting to the correct forum – my site is coming up in google searches with the correct name but the site description is the original theme owners site description.

I definitely corrected the meta date site description in header(php)
so any suggestions or other places I should be looking?

    thanks in advance – Johnny

  • site URL or theme name? There might have been some javascript inserted in code which automatically adds that info in your theme.

    Make changes in following:
    — Footer.php — per author note, change the .json to your site
    — in /scripts/blogger.php — change twitter link there
Not sure though if those are the “culprits” in this GPL theme but scanning over the files in this minimalistic theme, all others are clean

I just had this problem, took me a while to figure it out. Mercime, couldn’t have done it without you. Thanks!

Here’s a little more detailed info.

To find the /scripts/blogger.php file. you’ll need to go to your file manager in your webhost. Look under themes/modern_clix/js/blogger.php. Using your code editor, open the blogger.php file and change the user name.
