• Hi.

I’ve found a theme that I want to use, and have uploaded it into WordPress through a Go Daddy FTP client.

When I click on Appearance and then go into Themes, it’s not there. Yet when I go into Editor (also under Appearance), the whole folder is there and can be edited. I’m not looking to edit the theme, but to activate it. But it’s not listed under the themes that I can activate.

  • Do you see any messages about broken themes in Appearance/Themes? Look at the bottom of the page.

No, there’s nothing about broken appearances. I have the Appearance/Themes open. It shows the available themes, and there is nothing at the bottom of the page except the WordPress footer.

Where did you get this theme from? Have you checked through the theme folder? Does it contain all of the usual files?

I downloaded it from here: http://www.thebookish.info/
It’s the Garden theme. It looked like it contained all of the usual files, but I’m not tech savvy either. It did contain a ton of files though. 🙂

I wouldn’t touch that theme, personally. It has an encoded footer. Such themes are nearly always malicious in one way or another.

Urk! Thank you for letting me know. I appreciate it. 🙂
