theme: hueman – conditional featured posts on frontpage for different languages

  • Hello!

Apologies if this has been asked before but i couldn’t find an answer in the forum…

I am building a bilingual website using a hueman child theme and I want the homepage to show only english featured posts on the english version, and only portuguese featured posts on the portuguese version…

I am using xili-languages and xili-dictionary plugins to manage languages but I just started learning how to use them so it’s taking a bit of time…

    thank you for your help!
    Daria

  • By default, this type of theme does not integrate sub-selection of posts according language (taxonomy) in slider or grid. I took a quick look inside this free theme and analyze the featured function. This function seems depend here of the library ‘options tree”.

It is possible to modify according example sources delivered with free example theme twentyfourteen-xili (http://2014.extend.xiligroup.org – latest sources are inside a github repository) BUT you need to be easy in php wp because you cannot just replace files – the modifications will be done in featured query and cache management.

Thank you for the quick reply!

Doesn’t sound like something I’ll be able to do myself but I might get a developer to help me with it… thank you, you saved me so much time!

    Best,
    Daria
