# Theme Header Location Wrong

 * Tried to upload a custom header image via
    Appearance > Header > Choose File 
   > Upload
 * and received an error message:
 * > Unable to create directory /home/xgeocach/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2011/
   > 07. Is its parent directory writable by the server?
 * The thing is, I moved server some time ago and installed wordpress in the root
   folder, so the subfolder “xgeocach” doesn’t exist.
 * Is there a simple edit I can do somewhere to fix this path problem?

 * More info:
 * URLs in Settings >General are correct.
 * In Settings Media > Store uploads in this folder > is as default (wp-content/
   uploads)
 * File path to wp-content/uploads is /public_html/wp-content/uploads and contains
   previous uploads.
 * siteurl and home are correct in the WP_Content table in the wordpress database.

 * So I’m at a loss to know how the path is /home/**xgeocach/**public_html/wp-content...
   when I t should be
    /home/public_html/wp-content. . .

 * Try changing the permissions on the wp-content directory to 766. If you still
   have problems, try 767, 775 or 777. Once your uploads are working, change the
   permissions on wp-content back to 755 again and check that everything still works
   OK.

 * Thanks Esmi, but none of those options worked.
 * The error message is always the same
 * >  /home/xgeocach/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2011/07
 * I believe this is because /home/xgeocach/public_html does not exist!!
    (I think
   it should be /home/public_html, as wordpress is installed in the that folder.)

 * Fixed by a process of trial and error
 * It appears that the “Uploads” folder should have attributes of 775
