# theme has comments off on selected posts

 * I have a theme that has sections pre defined, when posting to this, there is 
   no option to turn on comments, its not up top. its not there some how the theme
   is forcing no comments on that special category. If I go to the database and 
   find one of those posts I can turn on comments in the database and they show 
   in the post. all other categories word as should with option to tick comments
   on/off. so some where in the theme / post editor it is forcing comments to off
   with no option to have on.
 * where are the settings for the post editor, that could force the editor for that
   to off.
 * I hope this is clear. I have looked in database for the forced no comments, but
   in global there on. I have looked at theme files but could not find anything,
   the wp loop for comments is in the theme.
 * I think its in the editor settings for that type post.

 * its called eliteladders its a sports simulator site. the author is not to be 
   found nor any info on it. its a complex theme. added a lot of stuff.
 * some how its not allowing comments to one type post. not a page.
 * if I change it in db it allows comment till you save it again.

 * Hmm, well maybe someone will happen along who has a guess, but in general these
   forums only support themes from the repository here. Sorry I don’t have a more
   helpful answer for you.

 * do you know where wp stores info about the options in the post editor. it has
   to be telling it to not show any choice for comments somewhere. as it ticks them
   closed in db
