    don’t set a featured image just put the image into the post and let wp do the rest.

    I removed the feature image, but now no photo displays on the main page/archives. I also tried making the first picture in the post a photo that is in my media gallery on wp (before all images were hosted on Flickr), but that didn’t change anything.

    I changed these things on a different post, so that the duplicate images will still be visible on the original link I included.

    I removed the feature image for this post:
    and now it no longer displays an image on the main page/archives:

    I appreciate all help — thanks.

    remove the featured image for a moment and in your single.php file in your theme try changing

    <?php the_content(); ?>

    <?php the_excerpt(); ?>

    and see if that makes a difference…

    Still no luck. That php change just made the full post disappear and only display the excerpt. Also, the issue persists whether I have a manual excerpt or the automated one.

    Again, I didn’t have this problem when I was using the same theme on and I didn’t change any of the CSS relating to posts or the feature image…

    Could not resolve the issue, so I installed a new theme.

    anyone else figure out how to do this? I want to keep my thumbnails for the purpose of a related post plugin that shows thumbnails from posts below each post, but I don’t want that featured image to display on top of the post…it’s redundant and cropped all weird…help!

    @melissa — per the forum guidelines, please post your own thread if you need help. It’s unlikely your situation is identical to an old thread and you are more likely to get answered if it’s a new thread.
